INLD Crisis: Chautala expels grandsons Dushyant, Digvijay

Chandigarh,

The ongoing rift in Haryana's main opposition party Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), witnessed its worst face on Friday with party supremo Om Prakash Chautala expelling his grandsons Dushyant Chautala and Digvijay Singh from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect.

Om Prakash Chautala, who is the National President of the INLD has also removed Hisar Parliamentarian Dushyant Chautala from the post of Leader of party's Parliamentary Board.

In a statement issued here, both, Dushyant Chautala and Digvijay Singh have been accused of indiscipline, hooliganism and spreading disaffection within the party against the party leadership during the Birthday Celebrations of Devi Lal in Gohana on October 7, this year.

The former Chief Minister also conveyed to the party office that in fact he did not need any outside evidence since he was a witness to the indiscipline and unruly scenes that also continuously interrupted his speech on that day but still he had referred the matter to the Disciplinary Action Committee of the party. The Committee has concluded that both are guilty as charged.

The internal strife within the Chautala family came in open during party's Gohana rally when some party workers created ruckus during the address of senior INLD leader and Leader of Opposition Abhay Singh Chautala who was facing ‘war of succession’ from his elder brother Ajay Singh Chautala’s sons Dushyant and Digvijay.

It was alleged that party workers behind the noisy showdown at the rally were supporters of Dushyant Chautala.

Taking serious view of said indiscipline, Om Prakash Chautala then dissolved party’s youth and student wing Indian National Student Organisation (INSO) headed by Digvijay.
