Always listed among country's most backward district when it comes to education, Haryana's Nuh district has a good news as a State University will soon be opened in the district.

The information came from Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar while responding to a question asked during ongoing Budget Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday.

The minister said that the Haryana government was committed to increase educational facilities in Nuh district of South Haryana.

Blaming the previous governments for not bringing in the required reforms in the education sector in Nuh district, Gurjar said, "A proposal to establish a state university in Nuh is under consideration. Identification of land for the University constructing is going on. For this, the Deputy Commissioner has been directed to submit a report regarding availability of land. The Higher Education Council is exploring its feasibility. Once feasibility is ascertained, further action will be implemented".

The Education Minister informed the house that at present, 21 state universities and one central university is established in Haryana.
